Description
These Easy Grilled Avocados are creamy, smoky, and ready in minutes! Grilling brings out the richness of ripe avocados and adds a light charred flavor that’s perfect for summer meals, BBQ sides, or filling with your favorite toppings. Great as a healthy appetizer or plant-based side dish.
Ingredients
-
2 ripe but firm avocados
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/4 tsp black pepper
-
Optional toppings: salsa, lime juice, chopped cilantro, crumbled feta, diced tomatoes, or grilled corn
Instructions
-
Preheat grill: Heat grill to medium-high (around 400°F). Clean and oil the grates.
-
Prep avocados: Slice avocados in half lengthwise and remove the pits. Leave the skin on. Brush the cut sides lightly with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
-
Grill: Place avocados cut side down on the grill. Grill for 2–3 minutes, just until grill marks appear and the surface is lightly charred.
-
Serve: Remove from grill and let cool slightly. Fill the center with your favorite toppings and enjoy warm.
Notes
-
Use avocados that are just ripe but still firm so they hold up on the grill.
-
Try filling with pico de gallo, black beans, shrimp, or even eggs for a fun twist.
-
Squeeze with fresh lime juice for brightness right before serving.
