Description

This Easy Garlic Butter Rice is a quick, flavorful side dish that pairs perfectly with just about anything. It’s buttery, garlicky, and packed with rich flavors, making it a crowd-pleaser for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 2 cups chicken broth (or water)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Garlic:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.

  • Cook the Rice:
Stir in the uncooked rice and toast it for about 2 minutes, allowing it to absorb the butter and garlic flavors.

  • Simmer:
Add chicken broth, salt, and pepper. Stir well, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15-18 minutes or until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

  • Fluff and Serve:
Remove from heat, fluff the rice with a fork, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice for a refreshing zing.
  • Use brown rice for a healthier option, adjusting cooking time as needed.
