Ingredients
For the Sloppy Joes:
2 lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 small green bell pepper, finely chopped (optional)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon brown sugar (or honey)
1 teaspoon chili powder (optional, for a little kick)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup water or beef broth
For Serving:
6 hamburger buns
Pickles or coleslaw (optional, for topping)
Instructions

Brown the Meat:
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned (5–7 minutes).
- Drain excess fat.

Add to the Crock Pot:
- Transfer the browned beef to a slow cooker.
- Stir in onion, bell pepper, garlic, ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and water (or broth).
