Description

This Easy Cream Cheese Chicken is a creamy, flavorful dish that’s perfect for a quick dinner! Tender chicken is smothered in a rich, garlicky cream cheese sauce that pairs well with pasta, rice, or veggies. Made with just a handful of ingredients, this dish is perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 ounces (1/2 block) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Season the chicken – Sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Cook the chicken – Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the sauce – In the same skillet, add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
  • Add the creaminess – Stir in cream cheese and heavy cream, whisking until smooth. Sprinkle in Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.
  • Combine – Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the top, and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  • Serve – Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier option.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
