Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 (8-12 oz) Brie wheel
- 1/4 cup fruit preserves (apricot, raspberry, or fig)
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds) (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
- Crackers, sliced baguette, or apple slices (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the puff pastry: Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Place the Brie wheel in the center.
- Add the filling: Spread the fruit preserves on top of the Brie and sprinkle with chopped nuts (if using).
- Wrap the Brie: Fold the puff pastry over the Brie, sealing the edges. Trim any excess pastry if needed. Press the edges gently to ensure it’s fully enclosed.
- Brush with egg wash: Brush the outside of the pastry with beaten egg for a golden, glossy finish.
- Bake: Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Cool & serve: Let it sit for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired. Serve warm with crackers, bread, or fruit.
Notes
- Use puff pastry scraps to cut decorative shapes and place them on top before baking.
- For a savory twist, add garlic, rosemary, or caramelized onions inside.
- If using frozen Brie, let it thaw slightly before baking to ensure a gooey center.
