Description

These Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans are a simple yet elegant side dish, perfect for holidays, dinner parties, or even weeknight meals. Fresh green beans are bundled together, wrapped in crispy bacon, and glazed with a touch of brown sugar and garlic for the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 slices bacon (thin-cut works best)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Prep the Green Beans:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add green beans and blanch for 2–3 minutes, until bright green but still crisp.
  3. Drain and immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking. Drain again and pat dry.

Assemble the Bacon Bundles:

  1. Divide green beans into 8 small bundles (about 6–8 beans per bundle).
  2. Wrap each bundle tightly with a slice of bacon and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.

Make the Glaze:

  1. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Brush or drizzle the glaze over each bacon-wrapped bundle.

Bake:

  1. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until bacon is crispy and beans are tender.
  2. For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.

Serve:

  1. Remove from oven and serve warm. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle with grated Parmesan or red pepper flakes before serving.
  • If using thick-cut bacon, partially cook it first so it crisps up properly in the oven.
  • These can be prepped ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking.
