Description

This Dulce de Leche Fondue is a smooth, creamy, and caramel-like dip perfect for fruit, cookies, and marshmallows. Made with just a few ingredients, it’s an easy and elegant dessert for parties or cozy nights in!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup dulce de leche (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or whole milk for a lighter version)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (optional, for salted caramel flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon dark rum (optional, for extra depth)

For Dipping:

  • Sliced bananas
  • Apple slices
  • Strawberries
  • Marshmallows
  • Pretzels
  • Pound cake cubes
  • Cookies (shortbread, wafers, etc.)

Instructions

  • Warm the ingredients: In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine dulce de leche and heavy cream. Stir continuously until smooth and heated through (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Add flavor: Stir in vanilla extract, sea salt, and rum (if using). Mix well until fully combined.
  • Transfer to a fondue pot: Pour into a warm fondue pot or a heatproof bowl. Keep warm over low heat or a tea light candle.
  • Serve: Arrange dipping items on a platter and enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • Thicker fondue? Reduce the heavy cream slightly or let it simmer for a few extra minutes.
  • Make it chocolatey: Stir in 2 oz melted dark chocolate for a dulce de leche-chocolate twist.
  • Storage: Store leftover fondue in the fridge for up to 5 days and reheat gently before serving.
