Description

This Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Sausage is the ultimate comfort food. Cheesy pierogies, savory smoked sausage, and a creamy sauce all cook together in the slow cooker for an effortless, hearty meal. It’s perfect for busy weeknights or a cozy weekend dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale

1 (16 oz) box frozen pierogies (potato and cheese flavor)

1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into rounds

1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, cubed

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup sour cream

1 small onion, diced (optional)

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Spray the inside of your crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.

  • Layer the frozen pierogies and sliced sausage in the crockpot.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add diced onions if using.

  • Pour the mixture evenly over the pierogies and sausage.

  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.

  • Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until everything is hot and the cheese is melted.

  • Stir gently before serving and top with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • You can substitute kielbasa or turkey sausage if preferred.

  • Add steamed broccoli or spinach for a veggie boost.

  • Stir halfway through cooking for more even heat distribution, if possible.
