This easy and moist crockpot cake is a perfect dessert for busy days. Simply mix the ingredients, let the slow cooker do the work, and you’ll have a warm, gooey cake ready to enjoy. With minimal prep time and maximum flavor, it’s a must-try for any occasion!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Grease the inside of your crockpot (slow cooker) with butter or non-stick spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, instant pudding mix, water, oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared crockpot and spread it out evenly.
  • Optional: Sprinkle the chocolate chips or chopped nuts over the top for extra texture and flavor.
  • Cover and cook on low for 2.5-3 hours. The cake should be golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
  • Turn off the crockpot and let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.

Notes

  • Cooking times can vary depending on your crockpot model, so start checking the cake around the 2.5-hour mark.
  • You can add any type of chips, nuts, or dried fruits to customize your cake.

  • For an extra indulgent treat, drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce after it’s done cook
