Description

These crispy oven-baked fries are tossed with garlic, Parmesan, and herbs for a deliciously seasoned side dish. Perfect with burgers, sandwiches, or as a snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large russet potatoes, cut into thin fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (plus more to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
For Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried)

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes:
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes (this removes excess starch for crispier fries). Drain and pat dry.
Season & Bake:
  1. Toss the potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet (avoid overcrowding).
  3. Bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
Add Garlic Butter & Parmesan:

  1. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with minced garlic.
  2. Drizzle over the hot fries, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
  3. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, bake at 450°F (230°C) for the last 5 minutes.
  • Swap russet potatoes for sweet potatoes for a different flavor.

  • Serve with garlic aioli, ranch, or marinara sauce for dipping!
