Description

These Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders are golden brown, juicy on the inside, and perfectly crunchy on the outside—without deep frying! Made with a flavorful seasoned coating, they’re great for a quick dinner, lunch, or snack. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb chicken tenders (or boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into strips)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup regular breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil for spraying

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Prepare the breading stations:
    • In one bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano.
    • In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
    • In a third bowl, combine the panko and regular breadcrumbs.
  • Coat the chicken:
    • Dredge each chicken tender in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
    • Dip into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
    • Roll in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Air fry:
    • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
    • Place chicken tenders in a single layer (work in batches if needed).
    • Spray the tops lightly with oil.
    • Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
  • Serve: Enjoy hot with dipping sauces like ranch, honey mustard, or BBQ sauce!

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, use only panko breadcrumbs instead of regular ones.
  • Want it spicy? Add ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper to the flour mixture.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour.
