- 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup pasta water (reserved)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until smooth.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Use reserved pasta water to loosen sauce if needed.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
