Description

This Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta is loaded with bold Cajun seasoning, tender shrimp, and a rich, garlicky cream sauce. It’s spicy, savory, and silky-smooth—everything you want in a comforting pasta dish with a bit of heat!

Ingredients

Units Scale

12 oz fettuccine or penne pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (plus more to taste)

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup chicken or seafood broth

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh parsley or green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  • Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning.

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sauté shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Stir in heavy cream and broth. Bring to a simmer.

  • Add Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes (if using), and season with salt and pepper. Stir until smooth and slightly thickened, about 3–5 minutes.

  • Add cooked pasta and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss to coat everything in the creamy sauce.

  • Serve hot, garnished with parsley or green onions and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Notes

  • You can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream, but the sauce will be slightly thinner.

  • Add sautéed bell peppers or spinach for extra veggies.

  • Use store-bought or homemade Cajun seasoning—adjust heat level to taste.
