Description
These crispy, golden-brown wontons are stuffed with a creamy, flavorful filling and fried to perfection. They make a delicious appetizer or snack and pair perfectly with sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce.

- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 20 wonton wrappers
- 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt until smooth.
- Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Brush the edges of the wrapper with the beaten egg.
- Fold the wonton in half to form a triangle or bring all four corners together to make a flower shape. Press the edges to seal.
- Heat about 2 inches of oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wontons in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce.
Notes
- Make sure to press out any air before sealing the wontons to prevent them from bursting during frying.
- You can bake or air-fry them for a lighter option. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes or air-fry at 370°F (188°C) for 7-8 minutes.
- Add crab meat or shrimp for a seafood twist!
