Description

This Crab Rangoon Dip is a warm, creamy, and cheesy appetizer inspired by the classic Chinese takeout favorite! Loaded with crab meat, cream cheese, and a touch of garlic, it’s perfect for dipping crispy wonton chips, crackers, or veggies. Great for parties, game nights, or holiday gatherings!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or Monterey Jack)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (6 oz) can lump crab meat, drained (or 1 cup fresh crab meat)
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

For Serving:

  • Fried wonton chips, crackers, or toasted baguette slices
  • Extra sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the base – In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth.
  3. Add the seasonings – Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Fold in the crab – Gently mix in the crab meat, green onions, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and the Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake – Transfer the mixture to a greased 8×8-inch baking dish or oven-safe skillet. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Cook until bubbly – Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until hot and golden brown on top.
  7. Serve warm – Garnish with extra green onions and serve immediately with wonton chips or crackers.

Notes

  • Make it ahead: Assemble the dip a day in advance, store it in the fridge, and bake just before serving.
  • Crockpot method: Mix everything and heat on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Extra flavor: Add a dash of hot sauce or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for brightness.
