Description

These Cotton Candy Cookies are a dreamy treat with a soft, chewy texture and a fun cotton candy flavor. Made with cotton candy extract and colorful swirls of pink and blue, these cookies are perfect for parties, birthdays, or just a sweet snack!


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp cotton candy extract (or 1/2 tsp vanilla + 1/2 tsp raspberry extract)
  • 34 drops pink food coloring
  • 34 drops blue food coloring
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crushed cotton candy (optional, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven & Prepare Baking Sheets:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter & Sugar:
    • In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
    • Add egg and cotton candy extract, mixing until combined.
  4. Add Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully combined.
  5. Color the Dough:
    • Divide the dough into two equal portions.
    • Add pink food coloring to one half and blue food coloring to the other.
    • Gently mix each portion until the color is even.
  6. Swirl & Shape the Cookies:
    • Take a small piece of pink dough and a small piece of blue dough, press them together, and gently roll into a ball.
    • Place on the baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
    • Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. Decorate (Optional):
    • While warm, sprinkle with crushed cotton candy or drizzle with melted white chocolate.

Notes

  • Want extra flavor? Add white chocolate chips or a pinch of sea salt for contrast.
  • For a crispier cookie, bake an extra 1–2 minutes.
