Description
Make delicious and crunchy banana chips in the air fryer with just a few simple ingredients. Lightly coated with cinnamon and sugar, they’re a naturally sweet and guilt-free snack for any time of day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe but firm bananas
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (to prevent browning)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or coconut sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Prep the Bananas:
- Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even rounds, about ⅛-inch thick.
- Place the banana slices in a bowl and gently toss with the lemon juice to prevent browning.
Coat with Cinnamon-Sugar:
- In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the banana slices, tossing gently to coat evenly.
Air Fry the Chips:
- Preheat the air fryer to 330°F (165°C).
- Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket or tray. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overlapping.
- Air fry for 8–10 minutes, checking and flipping halfway through cooking, until the chips are golden and crispy. Adjust the time if needed based on your air fryer model.
Cool and Serve:
- Remove the chips from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes. They will crisp up further as they cool.
- Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Notes
- Choose bananas that are just ripe; overly ripe bananas may not crisp up well.
- If you prefer unsweetened chips, skip the sugar and use only cinnamon.
- Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your banana slices and the air fryer model.
