Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 lb (approximately 4) salmon fillets
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Lime slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the Salmon:
- Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Season both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper. If using, place lime slices underneath each fillet for added flavor.
- Make the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, lime juice, and minced garlic until well combined.
- Glaze the Salmon:
- Pour the honey-lime mixture evenly over the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well coated.
- Bake:
- Fold the sides of the aluminum foil up around the salmon to create a slight barrier (this helps keep the glaze around the salmon). Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Broil (Optional):
- For a caramelized finish, switch the oven to broil for the last 2–3 minutes of cooking. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Remove the salmon from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh cilantro. Serve immediately, garnished with additional lime slices if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze mixture.
- This dish pairs well with steamed rice, quinoa, or a fresh green salad.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
