Instructions

  • Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  • Make the Cookie Dough:
  • In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  • Mix in the egg, egg yolk, vanilla, and almond extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Bake:
  • Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cool completely before frosting.
  • Make the Frosting:
  • Beat butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  • Add heavy cream 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  • Mix in food coloring if desired.
  • Frost & Decorate:
  • Spread frosting evenly over cooled bars.
  • Sprinkle with festive holiday sprinkles.
  • Slice into squares and enjoy!
