- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup chocolate chips or peanut butter chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream Butter & Sugar:
- In a large bowl, beat butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk.
- Combine & Add Mix-Ins:
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips or peanut butter chips if using.
- Scoop & Bake:
- Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are set.
- Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For extra crunch: Add chopped peanuts.
- Make it fudgier: Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- Storage: Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
