- For the Banana Bread:
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- For the Peanut Butter Swirl (Optional):
- 1/4 cup peanut butter (melted)
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat & Prepare:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas.
- Add peanut butter, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
- Mix the Batter:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Swirl in Peanut Butter (Optional):
- If adding a peanut butter swirl, mix the melted peanut butter with powdered sugar.
- Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, drizzle half of the peanut butter mixture, then repeat with remaining batter and peanut butter.
- Use a knife or toothpick to gently swirl.
- Bake the Bread:
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
- Swap peanut butter for almond butter or sunflower seed butter for a different flavor.
- Make it extra chocolatey by adding more chocolate chips on top before baking.
