Description

These Chocolate Blossom Cookies are soft, fudgy, and rich with a deep chocolate flavor, topped with a sweet chocolate kiss right in the center. Perfect for holiday cookie trays, parties, or whenever you’re craving a chocolaty treat with a delightful surprise on top!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • About 36 chocolate kisses (unwrapped)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
  • Roll each dough ball in the extra granulated sugar to coat.
  • Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cookies are set but still soft in the center.
  • Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie while they’re still warm.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a festive touch, roll the cookie dough in colored sugar before baking.
  • Try using different flavored chocolate kisses like caramel, mint, or almond for variety.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
