Description

This Chili Dog Casserole is a fun twist on classic chili dogs! Juicy hot dogs are baked with chili, cheese, and crescent rolls for a comforting, crowd-pleasing dish. Perfect for busy weeknights or game day!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 (15 oz) can chili with beans
  • 1 (8 oz) package crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread half of the chili evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  • Wrap each hot dog in a piece of crescent roll dough, rolling it up like a pig in a blanket.
  • Place the wrapped hot dogs on top of the chili in the dish.
  • Top with remaining chili and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.
  • Add shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  • Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped onions, mustard, and ketchup if desired.

Notes

  • Swap crescent rolls for biscuit dough or puff pastry for a different texture.
  • Use homemade chili for a richer flavor.
  • Top with jalapeños for extra spice.
