- For the Stir-Fry:
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast (or thighs), thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 4 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- For the Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional, for sweetness)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- 1. Marinate the Chicken:
- In a bowl, toss chicken slices with cornstarch and 1 tbsp soy sauce. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- 2. Make the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, red pepper flakes, and water.
- 3. Stir-Fry the Chicken:
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- 4. Cook the Aromatics:
- In the same pan, add 1 tbsp oil, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 5. Combine & Serve:
- Return chicken to the pan and add green onions.
- Pour in the sauce and stir-fry for 2 minutes, until everything is coated and heated through.
- Serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles!
Notes
- Want more veggies? Add bell peppers, mushrooms, or snap peas.
- Prefer a spicier kick? Add extra chili flakes or Sriracha.
- Make it gluten-free by using tamari instead of soy sauce.
