- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves (or chopped pecans)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Make the crust: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a crust.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly while you prepare the filling.
- Make the filling: In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Stir in the pecans.
- Pour the filling over the slightly cooled crust and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and golden around the edges. It should still be slightly wobbly in the center.
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares or rectangles.
