Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow macaroni or rotini work well)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional for extra creaminess)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley or chopped pickles, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
- Stir in the ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 1 minute to combine the flavors.
- Pour in the beef broth and diced tomatoes with their juices. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the uncooked pasta to the skillet. Stir well, cover, and reduce the heat to medium-low. Simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese, mozzarella, and heavy cream (if using). Mix until the cheese is melted and the pasta is creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or diced pickles for a cheeseburger-like finish. Serve hot.
Notes
- Pasta Options: Use any short pasta like penne, shells, or fusilli.
- Meat Variations: Swap ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Extra Cheesiness: Add more cheese or top with a sprinkle of Parmesan before serving.
- Pickle Lovers: Stir in diced pickles for that classic cheeseburger tang!
