Scale
- 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 20 soft caramel candies (or homemade caramel)
- 2 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 cup crushed nuts (peanuts, pecans, or almonds)
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips or toffee bits
- 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional)
- Toothpicks or small skewers
Instructions
- Prepare the apples – Wash, dry, and cut apples into bite-sized pieces (about 1-inch). Remove seeds. Insert a toothpick into each piece.
- Melt the caramel – In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the caramel candies and heavy cream in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Dip the apples – Dip each apple bite into the melted caramel, coating well.
- Add toppings – Immediately roll or sprinkle the caramel-coated apples with nuts, chocolate chips, or sprinkles.
- Chill and set – Place the coated bites on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 15 minutes until set.
- Optional chocolate drizzle – Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the bites for extra flavor.
- Serve & enjoy – Eat immediately or store in the fridge for up to a day.
Notes
- Use cold apples to help the caramel stick better.
- If the caramel starts to harden while dipping, reheat in the microwave for a few seconds.
- Best enjoyed fresh, as the caramel can become sticky over time.
