Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine or bocconcini)
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

For Garnish:

  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (for the wreath shape)
  • Extra balsamic glaze for drizzling

Instructions

Assemble the Wreath Base:

  1. Arrange fresh rosemary sprigs in a circle on a serving platter to create the “wreath” shape.

2. Layer the Caprese Ingredients:

  1. Place cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and fresh basil leaves in a circular pattern on top of the rosemary base.
  2. Make sure the ingredients are evenly distributed for a balanced look.

3. Season & Dress:

  1. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  2. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using).
  3. Add red pepper flakes for a little spice (optional).

4. Serve & Enjoy:

  • Serve immediately as a light appetizer or snack with toasted baguette slices, crostini, or crackers.

Notes

  • Make-Ahead: Assemble up to 4 hours in advance, but add the olive oil and balsamic glaze just before serving.
  • Dairy-Free Option: Use dairy-free mozzarella or marinated avocado chunks.
  • Extra Flavor: Add pitted olives or sun-dried tomatoes for more Mediterranean flair.
  • Serving Suggestion: Pair with a charcuterie board or a side of toasted garlic bread.
