Description
These fun and festive Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats are the perfect no-bake Halloween dessert! Made with marshmallows, crispy rice cereal, and food coloring, these treats are shaped and layered to look just like candy corn. They’re soft, chewy, and easy to make with just a few ingredients.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 10 oz mini marshmallows (about 1 bag)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Yellow and orange gel food coloring
- Cooking spray (for the pan)
Instructions
-
Prepare the pan: Line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
-
Melt the marshmallows: In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
-
Divide the mixture: Quickly divide the melted marshmallow mixture into three separate bowls.
-
Color the layers:
- Leave one portion plain (this will be the white center).
- Mix yellow food coloring into one portion.
- Mix orange food coloring into the third portion.
-
Assemble the layers:
- Press the white mixture into the center of the cake pan.
- Next, press the orange mixture around the white center.
- Finally, press the yellow mixture around the outer edge.
-
Let set: Allow the treats to cool and set for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
-
Cut into triangles: Remove from the pan and cut into 12 wedges, just like a candy corn shape.
-
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for the best color without making the mixture too runny.
- Spray your hands with cooking spray before pressing the layers to prevent sticking.
- These treats can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
