Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
  • In a large bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.​
  • Add the melted butter, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.​
  • Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.​
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.​
  • Shape the Pretzel Bites:
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.​

  • In a large pot, bring the 9 cups of water and the baking soda to a boil.​

  • Bake the Pretzel Bites:
  • Brush each pretzel bite with the egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.​
