Ingredients

Units Scale
  • :
  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean/20% fat) or halal ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for extra moisture)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (make sure it’s halal-certified, or use a substitute like soy sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing the baking sheet)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, ketchup, mustard, etc.

Instructions

  • :
  • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.
  • Prepare the burger patties: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs (if using), egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined (don’t overwork the meat). Form the mixture into 4 even burger patties.
  • Place on the baking sheet: Place the burger patties on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each one. Brush the tops of the patties with a small amount of olive oil to help them brown while baking.
  • Bake the burgers: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the burgers are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). If you want melted cheese on your burgers, add a slice of cheese during the last 2 minutes of baking.
  • Toast the buns (optional): While the burgers are baking, you can toast the hamburger buns in the oven or on a stovetop pan for a few minutes until golden brown, if you prefer toasted buns.
  • Assemble the burgers: Once the burgers are done, remove them from the oven and place them on the toasted buns. Add your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and cheese.
  • Serve and enjoy: Serve immediately with your favorite sides like fries, chips, or a salad.

Notes

  • :
  • You can use ground turkey, chicken, or lamb instead of beef for different flavors.
  • If you prefer, you can also add seasonings like paprika, cayenne pepper, or dried herbs to customize the flavor.
  • These burgers can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking.
