Ingredients
-
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/4 tsp black pepper
-
4 medium potatoes, diced (about 1/2 inch pieces)
-
1 cup sliced carrots or bell peppers
-
1 small onion, thinly sliced (optional)
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt and pepper to taste (for veggies)
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)
-
Ketchup, mustard, or burger sauce for serving
-
Heavy-duty aluminum foil
Instructions
-
Preheat grill or oven to 400°F.
-
Make the burger patties: In a bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix just until combined. Form into 4 equal patties.
-
Prep the veggies: In another bowl, toss diced potatoes, carrots/peppers, and onion with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
-
Assemble foil packets: Lay out 4 large sheets of heavy-duty foil. Place an even portion of veggies in the center of each. Top with a burger patty.
-
Seal the packets: Fold foil over the top and roll edges tightly to seal each packet closed.
-
Cook:
-
Grill: Place packets over indirect heat and cook for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway through.
-
Oven: Place packets on a baking sheet and bake for 35–40 minutes.
-
-
Finish and serve: Carefully open each packet (watch for steam!). Top with shredded cheese and let melt for 2–3 minutes. Serve with your favorite burger sauces.
Notes
Add a slice of bacon on top of each patty before sealing the foil for extra flavor.
Use pre-cooked or parboiled potatoes to speed up cook time.
Swap ground beef for turkey or plant-based patties if desired.
