Description

These cookies are rich, buttery, and flavored with warm cinnamon and brown sugar, giving them a soft and chewy texture with a slightly crisp edge.

Ingredients

Units Scale

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 1/4 cups brown sugar (light or dark)

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

For Rolling:

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat the Oven – Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cream Butter & Sugar – In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Wet Ingredients – Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

Mix Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

Combine – Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.

Shape the Cookies – Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough, roll into a ball, and coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place on the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake – Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.

Cool & Serve – Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy warm or store for later!

Notes

  • For extra softness: Add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch to the dry ingredients.
  • For a deeper flavor: Use dark brown sugar instead of light.

  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
