For the Colored Jello Cubes:

  • 3 (3 oz) boxes of Jello (choose different colors, such as red, blue, and green)
  • 3 cups boiling water (1 cup per Jello flavor)

For the Creamy Base:

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 packets unflavored gelatin (such as Knox)
  • 1/2 cup cold water (to dissolve the gelatin)

Instructions

  • Make the Colored Jello Cubes:
    • In separate bowls, dissolve each Jello flavor in 1 cup boiling water (no cold water needed).
    • Pour into small greased containers or shallow dishes and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
  • Cut the Jello Cubes:
    • Once set, cut the Jello into small cubes and gently mix them together in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Prepare the Creamy Base:
    • In a bowl, sprinkle 2 packets of unflavored gelatin over ½ cup cold water and let sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
    • Add 1 cup boiling water and stir until the gelatin dissolves.
    • Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and 1 cup cold water, mixing well.
  • Assemble & Chill:
    • Pour the milk mixture over the colored Jello cubes.
    • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until completely set.
  • Cut & Serve:
    • Slice into squares and enjoy this beautiful, stained-glass dessert!

Notes

  • Use 4-5 different colors for a more vibrant effect.
  • For a smoother texture, strain the milk mixture before pouring.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
