Description

This classic broccoli salad is crunchy, creamy, and full of flavor. It’s packed with fresh broccoli, crispy bacon, red onions, sunflower seeds, and a sweet tangy dressing. Perfect for picnics, potlucks, or as a side dish for dinner.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups fresh broccoli florets (about 2 heads)

  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled

  • 1/3 cup sunflower seeds (or chopped almonds)

  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries

For the dressing:

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)

  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Rinse and chop the broccoli into small florets.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, red onion, cheese, bacon, sunflower seeds, and dried cranberries.

  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper.

  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss until everything is well coated.

  5. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors come together.

  6. Give it a quick stir before serving and enjoy!


Notes

  • For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt in place of some or all of the mayo.

  • You can prep this salad a day ahead—it tastes even better after sitting overnight.

  • Swap cranberries for raisins or dried cherries if you prefer.
