Description
This Brie, Apple, and Cranberry Grilled Cheese is the ultimate sweet and savory comfort food! Creamy melted brie, tart cranberries, and crisp apple slices are sandwiched between buttery, golden-brown bread for a gourmet twist on a classic.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of sourdough (or your favorite bread)
- 4 oz brie cheese, sliced
- 1/2 apple, thinly sliced (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith work best)
- 1/4 cup cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for drizzling)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for extra warmth)
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional, for crunch)
Instructions
Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
Assemble the sandwich: Spread cranberry sauce on one side of two slices of bread. Layer brie slices and apple slices on top. If using, sprinkle with cinnamon and nuts, and drizzle with honey for extra flavor.
Top with bread: Place the remaining two bread slices on top to form sandwiches.
Butter the bread: Spread softened butter on the outer sides of each sandwich.
Grill the sandwiches: Place them in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Serve immediately: Slice in half and enjoy warm!
Notes
- Want it extra crispy? Try using a panini press for an even golden crust.
- No cranberry sauce? Swap it for fig jam or a drizzle of balsamic glaze!
- Pairing idea: Serve with a warm bowl of butternut squash soup for the ultimate cozy meal.
