Description

This creamy and flavorful spinach dip is perfect for parties, gatherings, or any time you’re in the mood for a delicious dip! Made with fresh spinach, creamy sour cream, and a hint of garlic, it’s a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • :
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped (or 1 package frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing, if using fresh spinach)

Instructions

  • :
  • Prepare the Spinach: If using fresh spinach, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the spinach and sauté until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. If using frozen spinach, thaw and squeeze out excess moisture.
  • Mix the Dip: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  • Add Spinach and Water Chestnuts: Fold in the sautéed spinach (or thawed spinach) and chopped water chestnuts, if using.
  • Chill: Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld together.
  • Serve: Serve chilled with crackers, chips, or fresh vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • :
  • For an extra creamy dip, you can add a bit of cream cheese or Greek yogurt.
  • This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • If you prefer a warm dip, transfer the dip to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
