Description

These Banana Pancake Dippers are a fun twist on classic pancakes! Sliced bananas are dipped in pancake batter, cooked until golden brown, and served with maple syrup for the perfect handheld breakfast treat. Great for kids and easy to make in just minutes!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 large ripe bananas
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk (or regular milk with 1 teaspoon vinegar)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (plus more for cooking)

  • Maple syrup, for dipping

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Slice bananas into ½-inch thick rounds and set aside.

Make the Batter: In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just combined (a few lumps are okay).

Heat the Pan: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter.

Dip & Cook: Using a fork or skewer, dip each banana slice into the pancake batter, coating it evenly. Place on the skillet and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve warm with maple syrup for dipping.

Notes

Swap buttermilk with regular milk + 1 teaspoon vinegar if needed.

Add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the batter for extra flavor.

Serve with peanut butter, chocolate sauce, or yogurt for more dipping options.
