Description

These Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos are crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The shrimp are seasoned and air-fried to perfection, then served in warm tortillas with a creamy slaw and fresh toppings. A quick, easy, and healthy taco night favorite!

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Juice of 1/2 lime

For the Slaw:

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (green, red, or a mix)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro

For Serving:

  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup crumbled cotija or feta cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes or pico de gallo
  • Extra lime wedges
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the Shrimp:

    • In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, cayenne (if using), and lime juice.
  2. Air Fry the Shrimp:

    • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
    • Arrange shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
    • Cook for 6-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until shrimp are pink and slightly crispy.
  3. Make the Slaw:

    • In a bowl, mix cabbage, mayo (or Greek yogurt), lime juice, honey, salt, black pepper, and cilantro.
    • Toss well and set aside.
  4. Warm the Tortillas:

    • Heat tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds until warm.
  5. Assemble the Tacos:

    • Fill each tortilla with slaw, air-fried shrimp, avocado slices, and diced tomatoes or pico de gallo.
    • Sprinkle with cotija cheese, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.
  6. Serve & Enjoy!


Notes

  • Want extra crunch? Add sliced radishes or crispy tortilla strips.
