Description

These air fryer calzones are the ultimate quick and cozy meal. Made with store-bought pizza dough and your favorite fillings, they’re golden, crispy, cheesy, and crazy easy to make. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or even a hearty snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 package store-bought pizza dough (or homemade if preferred)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled Italian sausage or pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup chopped mushrooms (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped spinach (optional)
  • Olive oil spray

  • Optional: garlic butter (melted butter mixed with garlic powder and parsley)

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
  • Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each one into a small circle.
  • Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on half of each dough circle, leaving the edge clear.
  • Add your desired toppings: mozzarella, sausage or pepperoni, mushrooms, spinach, or anything you like.
  • Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Press the edges with a fork to seal.
  • Lightly spray the tops of the calzones with olive oil or brush with garlic butter.
  • Place in the air fryer basket (in batches if needed). Cook for 8–10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Let cool slightly, then serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Don’t overfill the calzones or they might burst open.
  • Make it vegetarian by skipping the meat and adding more veggies or plant-based sausage.
  • Use marinara or Alfredo sauce for a fun twist.
