Description

These Air Fryer Bananas are caramelized to perfection with a crispy, golden outside and a soft, sweet center. Made with just a few simple ingredients, they make a quick and healthy dessert, snack, or topping for oatmeal, yogurt, or ice cream!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 ripe bananas (but not overripe)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter (or coconut oil)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bananas:

    • Peel and slice bananas into ½-inch thick rounds or cut them lengthwise in half for larger pieces.
  2. Coat the Bananas:

    • In a small bowl, mix melted butter (or coconut oil), honey (or maple syrup), cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
    • Gently toss the banana slices in the mixture, coating them evenly.
  3. Air Fry the Bananas:

    • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
    • Place the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket (use parchment paper for easy cleanup).
    • Air fry for 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and caramelized.
  4. Serve & Enjoy:

    • Serve warm as-is, or add to oatmeal, pancakes, yogurt, or ice cream.

Notes

  • Use firmer bananas to prevent them from becoming too mushy.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt for a sweet-salty flavor.
  • Sprinkle with chopped nuts or drizzle with melted chocolate for extra indulgence.
