- 1 large ripe banana (about 1/2 cup mashed)
- 3/4 cup self-rising flour (see note for substitution)
- For Coating (Optional):
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar + 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Powdered sugar
- Honey or maple syrup for drizzling

- Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, mash the banana until smooth.
- Gradually add self-rising flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. (The dough should be slightly sticky but manageable.)
- Step 2: Shape & Fry
- Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough and gently roll into a ball with floured hands.
- Fry in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Step 3: Coat & Serve
- Roll warm donut holes in cinnamon sugar or dust with powdered sugar.
- Serve warm with honey, syrup, or chocolate sauce!

- No self-rising flour? Use ¾ cup all-purpose flour + 1 teaspoon baking powder + ¼ teaspoon salt.
- Air Fryer Method: Spray with oil and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Make ahead: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 300°F for 5 minutes.
