Description

These Banana Donut Holes are soft, fluffy, and naturally sweet with just two simple ingredients—ripe bananas and self-rising flour! No yeast, no eggs, and no long prep time needed. Perfect for a quick snack or breakfast treat!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • :
  • 1 large ripe banana (about 1/2 cup mashed)
  • 3/4 cup self-rising flour (see note for substitution)
  • For Coating (Optional):
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar + 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar
  • Honey or maple syrup for drizzling

Instructions

  • :
  • Step 1: Prepare the Dough
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the banana until smooth.
  • Gradually add self-rising flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. (The dough should be slightly sticky but manageable.)
  • Step 2: Shape & Fry
  • Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough and gently roll into a ball with floured hands.
  • Fry in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Step 3: Coat & Serve
  • Roll warm donut holes in cinnamon sugar or dust with powdered sugar.
  • Serve warm with honey, syrup, or chocolate sauce!

Notes

  • :
  • No self-rising flour? Use ¾ cup all-purpose flour + 1 teaspoon baking powder + ¼ teaspoon salt.
  • Air Fryer Method: Spray with oil and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Make ahead: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 300°F for 5 minutes.
